There were 6 subjects in grade XI in Polewali Mandar that represent each learning style-strategic competence category. The instruments were questionnaire, test, and interview guidance. The questionnaire and test scores were analyzed quantitatively whereas test answers and interview results were analyzed qualitatively. The results show that of the 58 students who answered the test, they had low strategic competence in average also lack ability in each component. Visual learners are unable to formulate problem, incorrect in representing problem and unable to solve it correctly, tend to misinterpret verbal information and to involve visual presentations. An&nbsp; auditory learner formulated problem, however, the auditory learners are not completely correct in representing problem and unable to solve it correctly, tend to narrate the strategy, and are the best in interpreting verbal information. Meanwhile, kinesthetic learners are unable to formulate problem, not completely correct in representing problem and unable to solve it correctly, are the best in problem representation approach, but tend to be rigid in doing the strategy.</p> Sabri Sabri, Suradi Suradi, Abdilla Nurul Azisah M.N. This paper investigates empirically and analytically whether climate variability exists or not in different altitudes, whether its direction moves and what will be its future direction. In this study, we used a time series forecasting model based on the secondary data of hydrology and metrology collected from the Department of Hydrology and Metrology, the Government of Nepal.&nbsp; As a result, this paper found climate variability in the different parts of Nepal where variations of climatic variables (temperature and rainfall precipitation) are found all months of the year. In the estimation, on average temperature rising per annum is by 20 C from 1975 to 2012. However, declining rainfall per annum was noticed. &nbsp;Additionally, the estimated forecasting of temperature variation over the next 40 years would be 60c over.&nbsp; In the case of rainfall forecast, it would be constant and results from drought at high altitude and flood at low altitude. Therefore, climate variability may be a big threat in the next 40 years across the country, of Nepal. &nbsp; The result may be valuable input to the policymakers and farmers for economics as usual.</p> Raghu Bir Bista Copyright (c) https://sainsmat.org/index.php/sainsmat/article/view/2285 Fri, 31 Mar 2023 00:00:00 +0800 The Effect of Implementing the Learning Model to Develop Metacognitive Ability (PMKM) on Learning Outcomes and Learning Independence of Ninth Grade Junior High School Mathematics Students https://sainsmat.org/index.php/sainsmat/article/view/2286 <p>This study aims to determine the effect of Learning to Develop Metacognitive Ability (PMKM) model on learning outcomes and students' independence in learning mathematics. This research is pre-experimental study conducted in class IX use cluster random sampling with 24 students as the research sample. Data collection was carried out using a learning achievement test and learning independence questionnaire. The data analysis technique used are descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results of descriptive statistical analysis are: (1) The average score of student learning outcomes before the application of PMKM model is 24.57 which is in very low category, (2) The average score of student learning outcomes after the application of PMKM model is 86.71 which means is in high category, (3) the independence of student learning before the application of the PMKM model is in fairly independent category or with average score of 41.75, (4) the independence of student learning after the application of the PMKM model is in independent category or with average score 62,20. Meanwhile, the results of inferential statistical analysis show that the application of PMKM model has a positive effect on learning outcomes and learning independence of class IX junior high school students.</p> Abdul Rahman, Sukarna Sukarna, Muh. One of the methods in cluster analysis used to group data is the K-Medoids method. In this study the K-Medoids method was applied to classify provinces in Indonesia based on environmental pollution. The variables used are: the number of sub-districts/villages that experience water pollution from factory waste, the number of sub-districts/villages that experience water pollution from household waste, the number of sub-districts/villages that experience soil pollution from factory waste, the number of sub-districts/villages that experience soil pollution from household waste, the number of sub-districts/villages that experience air pollution from factory waste and the number of sub-districts/villages that experience air pollution from household waste. Based on the Davies Bouldin Index, the 2 best clusters were obtained where the first cluster consisted of 31 provinces which had low environmental pollution and the second cluster consisted of 3 provinces which had high environmental pollution.</p> Muh. Jigsaw is a multifunctional structure of cooperative learning structures. The research subjects were grade II students at Seruni 01 Public Elementary School in the eighth semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The research subject is success in learning Indonesian. Methods of data collection is done through tests. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis. The success criterion is a minimum class average according to the KKM score and a minimum classical advantage of 65%. In the first period, the willingness to learn increased from 56 percent to 83 percent in the second period. Data from Cycle II shows that the expected success achieved even exceeds the proposed learning success indicator. From this, the researcher concluded that Jigsaw cooperative learning applied in the learning process can improve learning.</span></p> Riadhatul Ulum, Muhammad Fath Azzajjad, Dewi Satria Ahmar Copyright (c) https://sainsmat.org/index.php/sainsmat/article/view/2288 Fri, 31 Mar 2023 00:00:00 +0800
